Problem of Intelligent People
Either one becomes angry on criticism or overjoyed when praised; these situations are improper. Criticism should be welcomed, and due thought should be given to conveying the message without becoming disturbed by its tenor. However, one gets offended when one’s ego is touched, even when someone speaks the truth.
People generally get offended upon hearing criticism against them. This behaviour is entirely against the scheme of nature. In doing so, they pay a heavy price. They deprive themselves of the “nectar” available for them in everything and every experience — a good lesson to be learnt and a piece of wise advice you can forward. Every person’s environment has “nectar”. One should take the “nectar” and ignore the “thorns” like the honeybee.
There is a simple criterion: when you do not become happy with people praising you and do not feel bad for being criticised, you are gaining spirituality.
