A hadith says about Muslims of the later period: "Their wisdom will be taken away." (Sunan Ibn Majah 3959)
I thought how this would happen. This is when they would only sing praises of the Prophet, but not use their mind. They would only praise the Prophet in words. They would only praise the Prophet in words. When the community develops the mindset of praising the Prophet only in words, their rational thinking will come to an end, their intellectual development will be halted. People will only be masters of using words. When I was young, we read a eulogy to the Prophet. I was not mature then. The eulogy described the meraj or ascension. It said that the Prophet journeyed up the skies until he met God Almighty. 
The eulogy said: "The Prophet was enveloped in the shade of mercy." This means just as mothers embrace their children, God also did the same with the Prophet. These are all absurd eulogies. Muslims since past several hundred years are involved in writing such praises of the Prophet. This is why their minds don't work. They are in stagnation. There is no creative thinking among them. Intellectual stagnation replaced intellectual development. This is what the hadith describes as: "Their minds will be taken away."
The Prophet had said that an age that would come after me, which would give you global opportunities: Copy Arabic text "I have been helped through the safety of one month's journey, and the entire world has been made mosque for me."  The Prophet wanted to develop universal thinking in the people of his community. He wanted them to have global thinking. The Prophet meant that an age would come when opportunities would open up. This will help in doing global planning for the Islamic mission. This hadith does not speak about a historical fact.  The hadith means an age will come when Muslims will do global planning for Islam. It is implicit that this will be a peaceful planning, there will be no need to fight.
