Human beings need to have a true religion, that is, the religion that they have discovered as truth. A religion that becomes one's life, that becomes integral to one's existence, that becomes woven into one's being, a religion of lesser degree is no religion at all. A religion of lesser degree is a social custom, it's a set of rituals. There is nothing more to it than that.
Remember, if religion is no more than a form of some rituals in your life, then that's not religion, that is a part of social culture. Religion is something you find as a discovery. You were a true seeker, you didn't give up, then finally you found the truth, like the person who uttered 'Eureka Eureka,' I found it, I found it. When you find religion at this level, that is the religion, the truth. That is the divine truth. If you have a religion at a lower level, then it's just culture, it's social customs, it's a reduced form of religion. Such a religion cannot illuminate your life.
Religion is that which illuminates your life, enlightens your mind, brightens your heart, and enlightens your eyes. A religion that does not become the light of life is nothing at all. Human beings need to have a true religion, that is, the religion that they have discovered as truth.
