Speaking the truth, being honest, tolerant and peaceful, having love, well-wishing and friendly behaviour for others are all human or moral values. These values are part of all religions including Islam. Without these values, a person becomes an animal. These moral values differentiate a person from animals.
All religions, including Islam, believe in the importance of speaking the truth. A person once came to the Prophet. He said he had many flaws and asked which one he must rectify first. The Prophet replied: Stop lying. Speak the truth always. (Al-Mahasin wal-azdaad, al-Zamakhshari, v. 1, p. 60) When the person left, he realized that lying was not just one evil. Whenever a person indulges in an evil action, he surely includes lying in it. Without lying, no one can indulge in wrongdoing. Whenever a moment of wrongdoing arose, the person realized he would have to lie to fool people. One by one, he had to leave every evil deed he was involved in. When he stopped lying, he had to leave all other evil deeds as well. Speaking the truth, being honest, tolerant and peaceful, having love, well-wishing and friendly behaviour for others are all human or moral values. These values are part of all religions including Islam. Without these values, a person becomes an animal. These moral values differentiate a person from animals.
