The Quran’s message is ‘take your nectar of wisdom, and ignore the rest’. Wisdom is present in everything in nature. The rose has both beauty and thorns—the wisdom is to live in peaceful coexistence. “That is the spirituality in Islam.
According to the Quran, the Prophet has four roles: recitation of the Quran, teaching the Book, helping in purification of the soul and imparting wisdom. (3:164)
The Quran also says: Copy Arabic text (2:269) whoever is granted wisdom has indeed been granted abundant wealth.
Hikmat has a lot of importance in Islam. Hikmat means wisdom. These days people consider Islam a set of rituals: Namaz is a ritual, fasting is a ritual, Hajj is a ritual, and so on. Islam has become a set of rituals, which has to be repeated from time to time.
This is a reduced concept of Islam, or a reduced form of Islam. This is a grave underestimation of Islam, and also of God. Has God made this vast universe in which He settled humans, in which He sent the Prophet -- to only impart knowledge of some rituals?
This is underestimation of God. The truth is that Islam is a great reality. Islam gives an ideology of life. Islam also gives wisdom. Wisdom is not something that can be enclosed in a packet and given to someone. Wisdom is another name for creativity. There is no such book which contains all of wisdom. This is not possible. Wisdom is creativity, or creative thinking. As long as people don’t have creative thinking, they won't become wise. This is because situations and circumstances keep changing. We have to rediscover wisdom every time in different situations. Wisdom is not something solid or stagnant. You have to rediscover wisdom every moment, every night and day, in new situations and new circumstances. If you have creativity, you can become a wise human being. The Prophet was sent to impart wisdom. This doesn’t mean that he had a list of wisdom which he gave to people. This means that part of the mission of the Prophet was to bring intellectual awakening in people, help them become creative, intellectually developed and have high thinking.
This is so that they could discover wisdom and understand deep truths.
