The Quran says: فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ (54.55) This is indeed strange.  The people of Paradise will be in the seat of truth with an all-powerful sovereign. The people of Paradise will have seats allocated for them. Where will these seats be? They will be in the presence of God Almighty.

This is indeed very unique. God has created the sense of pleasure. I often think that pleasure or happiness is a creation. Beauty is also a creation. One who created this must be very unique indeed. To see that Being, to be in His companionship and to converse with Him are all mentioned in books of Hadith. The super item of Paradise would be meeting with God Almighty.

The Companions asked the Prophet: Will we see God in Paradise? The Prophet replied: You will see God just as you see the sun and the moon. (Sahih al-Bukhari 554) If you go to Paradise and you are unable to see the Creator of the universe, then such a Paradise would be meaningless.  I once went to a big Ashram, a religioius retreat. A very famous guru of the Ashram called me to meet with him.  There was so much crowd in the area that our car couldn’t move around.  I requested my companion to ask the people why there was such a huge crowd.  Do you know what people said? We all want to see the guru once at least. There were people all around and so our car moved ahead with difficulty to reach the guru. There were people everywhere around us. They just wanted to have one sighting of the guru.

I asked my companion to enquire why these people were gathered in great numbers. They said: We are here to see our guru.  If the sighting of one's guru is so precious, then how much more precious will be the sighting of God Almighty? A guru is insignificant in comparion to God Almighty.  A guru is insignificant in comparion to God Almighty. The super item of Paradise would be to behold God Almighty.
