The first verse of the Quran is  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم (1:1). Its translation is: “In the name of God, the most merciful, the most compassionate.” People just read, they read and move on. But when you contemplate, you will discover a great secret in it—the secret of life.

What is it? It is that the world you are entering, the world you are living in, is the world of the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful. That is, it is the world of God who is the most merciful, the most compassionate. What will you gain from it? You will find hope that the world you are stepping into, the world you are entering, the world in which you have to live, the world where you have to carry out your activities, is the world of the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful God.

It means that He is a God who is exceedingly merciful, abundantly blessed, most compassionate, most merciful. Now you can find a vast ocean of hope. It means that when you enter the world without the concept of God, you take a jump into darkness. But when you move forward with the spirit of "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم," your entry into the world will be a hopeful one. With this certainty, you will move forward, with the conviction that at every moment, at every turn, I will receive help from God, and with God's help, I will be successful. What a great treasure it is! You know, hope is the greatest thing, the greatest thing is hope. If there is no hope, a person cannot do anything. Hope leads people to accomplish great feats; it makes them climb Everest, cross oceans, and fly into space—all driven by hope. So, an endless hope is bestowed upon that believer who enters the world with the spirit of بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
