A verse in the Quran says: وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ (2:186)
When My servants ask you about Me, say that I am near. I respond to the call of one who calls, whenever he calls to Me: let them, then, respond to Me, and believe in Me, so that they may be rightly guided. This means: I am near. I respond to the call of the callers, so believe in me. When a person calls out to his Lord and he receives a response, that is the greatest proof of God's existence. 
By God's grace, I have come to know many truths that had been unknown through history.How was I able to know all this? It was through prayer. Ibn Taymiyah is considered a great scholar in Islam. He used to say: O Teacher of Ibrahim, teach me as well.
When he couldn’t understand a Quranic verse with clarity, he would say: يا معلم ابراهيم علمني.
O One who taught Ibrahim, grant me knowledge as well. (al-Mustadrak ala Majmu il-Fatawa, v. 5, p. 150) 
This became a part of my personality. Many a times I prayed and then I discovered truths which I was unaware of earlier. How to understand this?
This came from God. Science accepts that in this universe all human beings cannot together create a single particle.  All the particles in the universe will forever remain constant. It is not within human capacity to add even a single particle. Just as you cannot increase physical particles in the universe, you cannot even create a thought particle. The physical particles will always remain conserved. Only God has the power to increase the number of particles, not humans. Similarly, the thought particles you have remain constant. If there is addition, it is from God.
