Maulana Wahiduddin Khan I Speaking Tree Website I Monday, March 10, 2014There is a saying that Mr So and So was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. This saying conveys a wrong connotation. According to it, there is no equality in the divine scheme of birth, that is, some are born with special blessings while others are not. This concept is totally wrong. Blessing is based on opportunity. Blessing is the most important thing in everyone's life. One who avails this opportunity becomes successful, and one who fails in availing this opportunity, becomes a failure. Success is the outcome of one's effort, it has nothing to do with birth. Everyone is born on an equal basis. The most appropriate saying is: 'Everyone is born with a silver spoon of opportunity.' There are many people who are born in abundance but due to their incompetence, they became failures. While there are other persons who were born in scarcity, but because of their effort they emerged as superachievers. [Highlight1] In fact those who are born into abundance are deprived persons, because where there is abundance there is no incentive. Because of lack of incentive or motivation, they make no effort and very soon lose all their money. Ultimately, they become poor. While those who were born in scarcity, possess incentive, and by following it they successfully change their fate. Abundance kills one's personality while scarcity proves to be a booster for personality development. It means that in terms of result, poverty is far greater a blessing than abundance. Deprived persons are highly blessed persons. This is the lesson from entire history.
